EDU 608- Introduction to the Practicum


To complete the requirements for the practicum- EDU 608, you must do the following:
  1. No later than the time in which you present your practicum to the rest of the cohort you should submit the final copy of your action research paper to the instructor.
    1. Be sure to self-evaluate your paper by using the attached checklist which I will use to grade the paper to be sure have everything in it.

    2. You will NOT receive a copy of your paper back so be sure to keep a copy for yourself.
  2. You must give a presentation of no more than 20 minutes followed by 5-10 minutes for questions and comments to the class on the scheduled date.

    1. You should have no more than 12-15 powerpoint slides with at least 2 per chapter (10 slides minimum).
    2. If you exceed 20 minutes you will lose points.
  3. While your classmates are presenting you will be required to complete a peer feedback form.
    1. You must attend and give feedback on all of your classmates presentations.

EDU 667- Practicum

To complete the requirements of the Practicum (internship), you must do the following:
  1. Submit a final portfolio on your internship experience on the assigned due date. The portfolio should include the following:
  2. An introductory chapter explaining where you performed your internship, who your supervisor was and some background and demographics on
  3. the school.
  4. You should then have 6 sections, 1 for each of the leadership standards. These sections shouled EACH include the following:
    1. The first page should be a log of the internship hours (with a total of hours for the standard) you have completed that are related to the
    2. standard. The log should be signed by you and your site supervisor documenting the hours.

    3. The second page should be the beginning of a 3-5 page reflection for the standard. It should address each of the "outstanding" descriptors from the internship rubric for the standard (i.e., Standard 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4 for standard 1) The reflection should also include your reflections and thoughts on your most significant experiences or observations related to the standard.

    4. The final part of each standard's section should contain any artifacts
  5. You must give a 5-10 minute presentation on your internship experience with no more than 2 presentation slides per section. The slides should focus again on your most signficant experiences or observations related to each standard.
